The lace trend doesn’t end with the holidays. Take a cue from Whitney Thompson who looks feminine and elegant in this lace frock.

We’ve been reading all about PlusLondon, a plus size fashion event held in London on February 5, 2011, and we’ve created a compilation from many of the bloggers that attended the event this past weekend.
The day-to-evening event featured collections from ASOS Curve, Anna Scholz, Carmakoma, H&M, Torrid, and Yours Clothing. Starting out at the Evans flagship store in Marble Arch, nearly 50 fashion bloggers participated in the plus size shopping event. At the afterparty, hosted at the Strand Gallery in London, samples from the newest collections were available for bloggers to sample. “Ooh, there was also a ‘pop-up’ photo studio” noted Maria from CurvesUnited.
Many of the bloggers took some great photos trying on some of the great outfits. Here are some of our favorites!
“It’s not a big surprise, the Anna Scholz S/S collection is gorgeous. Lovely colors, prints, cuts…” said Valerie of Blog to Be Alive. “The adorable Wendy of 52-46-54 talks about the day with lots of lovely pictures – this picture is of her trying on an Anna Scholz dress, unintentionally becoming 100% bombshell!” quoted from PlusLondon.
“Carmakoma were there with their summer collection, which I loved every piece. I love the simplicity of their clothes but with an edge…Im also assured they are looking at extending their size range which is good news,” noted Amanda from Curvatini
“From left to right, the other lovely bloggers are Claire, Amy, Georgina (who was also celebrating her 21st birthday!), Wendy – and I’ve completely forgotten the name of the lovely lady in black because I’m so useless” Quoted from PlusLondon.
From the blogger community, we kept on hearing that the organizer, Lauren, went above and beyond. “Massive kudos to Lauren, from Pocket Rocket, for organizing the fantastic Plus London party last night at The Strand Gallery in Charing Cross. She managed to get over 50 bloggers from across Europe into one room, plied us all with champagne and nibbles, secured sponsorship from a host of brands, worked the door, pack the goody bags and (whilst I would have been a harried mess) Lauren still managed to look absolutely gorgeous on the night and give a really lovely speech,” quoted from Ellie at Pretty Much Penniless.
Carla, from Messy Carla and one of the co-organizers, had some great insights about what the event meant for her. “ It feels less like its a plus size event and more like its a fashion event which kind of happens to have a plus focus. This to me is so what is needed.” Carla noted that while the event showed some great stuff and there are a few great new pieces, overall plus apparel “seems to be exactly the same as what was there last year.” She quoted Amanda from Curvatini,“How can we convince more plus women to demand fashion and feel good taking risks and finding their own style.”
What a great event! Fashion bloggers across Europe consistently noted how great it was to be surrounded by a group of people that were just as passionate about fashion as they were. There are sure to be more to follow.
